International High School at Union Square, located at 40 Irving Place, is a New York City high school that features a diverse community of international students. The school’s mission is to empower students to thrive in a globalized world by learning to advocate for themselves and collaborate with others in our culture of technology, media and information. This public school was founded in 2010 as a member of the nationally recognized Internationals Network for Public Schools, which has member schools in New York, California, Connecticut, Virginia and Utah. The school shares the busy Washington Irving Campus with five other Gramercy Park schools—equipping students with plenty of resources at their fingertips. Although the school is public, International High School has a screened admissions program that requires applicants to meet certain criteria for entry, such as a minimum GPA, an audition or a portfolio submission. Students at Union Square's International High School location are immersed in hands-on, experiential learning and interdisciplinary projects in an enriching school atmosphere. They are supported in every class to use both English and their first languages to discover new ideas, embrace cultural differences and fully express themselves through learning.

I have been studying in my school for 2 years and I have a very enjoyable experience and memories. They provide us many opportunities like college now classes, internships, job opportunities, helps with immigration and many more. One thing I like to see change is having more students other than Latin students, they make about 80% of the school.
