Things I wished I asked before enrolling my kid: what percentage of kids are doing private tutoring and supplementing with after school programs like RSM or AoPS? What are the 8th grade to high school exmission outcomes and what have the trends been in the past five years? What percentage of the class is 2e and how does this impact the school socially? Don't let all the good reviews fool you. The academics (with the exception of the tedious Bridges math curriculum) are good but this is not the best school for social emotional development. You're paying $40k private school tuition for what is basically an Eastside highly capable public school experience. Your kids would also be surrounded by many 2e kids with screen and video game addictions.

My son has been at Evergreen for two and a half years and enjoys going to school. It's heart warming every time I hear the head of school, faculty, students, and other parents greet my son by name. I often hear him singing songs he learned in his music and Mandarin classes. He's excited to share the projects he's worked on at school. He's made "just because" gifts to give to his teachers. The other day I asked him what he's grateful for and he said "Evergreen". I'm truly grateful for The Evergreen School as well.

Our son came to Evergreen in fifth grade, and it is an excellent school all around. The teachers are AMAZING and the administration makes sure everything runs smoothly. It's a very supportive community, and I highly recommend Evergreen for any highly capable student.
