Frank A. Sedita Academy, or PS 30, is an elementary school serving students in prekindergarten through eighth grade. Named after former Buffalo mayor Frank A. Sedita, this tuition-free public school is in the heart of the West Side of Buffalo, New York. The large site includes plenty of classroom space for its roughly 800 students, who are referred to as the Dragons. While the building is in a city setting, an outdoor playground and some green spaces are available for student use. Extended learning time is offered to students in third through eighth grade via a partnership with Northwest Buffalo Community Center. Afternoon enrichment opportunities include art exploration, dance and other creative pursuits supported by collaborations with community organizations. The school’s expressed commitment to access, equity, opportunity and quality is designed to meet the diverse needs of students.
