Located on the East Side of Buffalo, New York, King Center Charter School is a coed elementary school serving kindergarten through eighth grade students. King Center Charter School was the first charter school in Buffalo in 2000. It was originally located in the historic St. Mary of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, but as the school expanded, more space was needed. In 2015, KCCS moved to its current location in former Buffalo Public School #71 at the corner of Newburgh and Lang avenues. The building underwent major renovations to meet the needs of the growing student population.
KCCS believes that the road to college begins in kindergarten. With that in mind, the school aims to prepare students for their future with community support, rigorous academics and college and career coaching. KCCS offers a range of academic programs to achieve this mission, including special education services and support for English language learners.
A strong athletics program complements students’ studies, and the King Center Trailblazers participate in basketball, hockey, track, martial arts and swimming. Additional clubs and social activities are offered after school. This high-performing, publicly funded school is tuition-free and available to all students residing in the Buffalo School District. Transportation is provided, making this a convenient choice for working parents.

I really like this school! according to their test scores they rank in the top 5 schools. They school is very close knit has a family feel to it where you knw everyone. my daughter loves it. I love that they have an honors program every quarter for the children to be recognized for their high grades...
